How To Use Dry Guide Coat for Sanding & Buffing.

C.W. Hayden Co How To Series

Instructions on how to properly sand a panel so that it can be prepped for paint or a consequential buffing operation.

Step 1.

One of the easiest ways to tell when you have sanded far enough is to use a product called Dry Coat Guide. First you want to thoroughly sand back the surface of your panel to about 400 grit.

Step 2.

Next take the Dry Guide Coat and cover your applicator with it. Wipe over the surface of your panel carefully. What this is doing is sending a very fine black powder down into the scratches on your panel.

Step 3.

Now resume sanding until the black is gone, the lines are all gone and you have sanded below the level of the scratches.

Step 4.

One of the beautiful benefits of having a dust free system is you don’t have to wipe it off, you just sand until all the black is gone. The scratches should now all uniformly be the same at 400 grit and you are ready to take the next step which would be either sanding back to a 600 grit, or a finish that goes on top of either a gel coat or a paint.

That is how you use Dry Coat Guide. Click here to order Dry Coat Guide online.
