How to Test Optimal Air Pressure for Pneumatic Tools

C.W Hayden Co. How To Series

C.W Hayden has a tool you can use to determine if your tools are operating at optimal tool speed while under load. The tool inline air tester airline. We have a device which we put together or which you can put together on your own. You can also call your CW Hayden representative & we can come in and do the testing with you.

Step 1:

You will need a brass T, ¼ NPT, pressure gauge, connector & plug.

Step 2:

Next you will need to put this inline, connect your tool to the coupler, your airline to the plug & you will instantaneously get your air reading at that drop.

Step 3:

Next drop to about 110 or a little bit less and you should be running under load. Ideally you want your tools to be operating at 90 PSI. If you have a single drop or multiple drops around a shop, the air pressure will change depending on how many people are using that particular airline & the number of drops on that airline. So this tool will really help your abrasives do what they are supposed to do in the most timely fashion.

It’s important to ensure your abrasive pneumatic tool speed is operating under ideal load and conditions. The tools speed is directly proportional to the effectiveness of your abrasive.
